Kiwi Smoothies

Kiwi Smoothies use the Kiwi Fruit (not the bird!) as the basis for the mixture. The fruit has quite a subtle taste so it is easily overpowered.

Personally, I like the addition of lime and lime zest. Kiwi and Lime are my favorite pick in the ‘subtle fruit flavors’ category. Get a nice ripe Kiwi fruit and try one of our Kiwi Smoothies.

Kiwi Smoothies and Health

The green Kiwifruit is actually brown on the outside, and although the skin is edible it is so rough and ‘furry’ that few would want to!

The inside flesh is green with very small black seeds. It is normally eaten raw after peeling and slicing. There is a gold colored inside flesh variety but most of North America and Europe see the green fleshed variety.

Two medium Kiwifruits represent about 90 calories, virtually no fat, no cholesterol and no sodium. The fruit is high in Potassium and Vitamin C and has about 4 grams of dietary fiber…per two kiwifruits.

Kiwi Smoothies


1 1/2 cups diced fresh Kiwi.
1 1/2 cups Lime sherbet.
1 cup diced ripe Banana.
1 cup honeydew Melon.

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
Process until smooth.
Serves 3.


2 Kiwi fruit.
1 Banana.
1 teaspoon Lime juice.
1/2 teaspoon grated Lime zest.
2 ice cubes.
1 cup skim milk.
1/4 cup part skim milk.
Ricotta cheese.

Peel Kiwifruits and Banana and cut into large chunks.
Place fruit, Lime juice, Lime zest and ice cubes in food processor or blender and process until blended.

Add milk and Ricotta and process for another 5-10 seconds,
scraping down sides of container with rubber spatula.

Pour mixture into 2 tall glasses and serve.
Serves 2.

Kiwi Fruit Smoothies

3 peeled Kiwi.
1 cup frozen Banana slices.
3/4 cup Pineapple juice.
1/2 cup frozen Strawberries.

Put all ingredients into blender.
Blend until smoothie consistency is reached!
